The U.S. Army Corps of engineers has developed two trails for horse riders. The Lowland Trail is a 10-mile route along the lakeshore suitable for beginning riders interested in equestrian sport. The Wilderness Trail is a more challenging 12-mile route in steeper terrain. Both trails are open year round, and there is no fee for their use.
Parking areas and ramps are available off Highway 53 north of Granville and at the end of Holleman Bend Road, two miles north. Camping is permitted at both locations and a designated spot along the trail; however, there are no developed facilities. Please see the Cordell Hull Lake for regulations and more information.
