There is no possible way I could have handled set up, vendors, clinicians, rider check in, more vendors, more clinicians, rider questions, more clinicians and the 2,867 questions that come to you each day when helping to run an event like this while trying to keep track of my children.
I'm being spoiled as my mom is STILL in town and hasn't left for work out of state in weeks. This means more saddle time. On a lovely Wednesday evening Jenn and I saddled up Lodi and Tag for a romp about the property. As I'm spending more time on him, I'm allowing Tag to travel further away from home with each ride.
Of all of the places I’ve been fortunate enough to ride in my life, I wonder if I have a favorite. From beautiful beaches to steep rocky mountains, which terrain is the most fun? Picking my way through green trees to loping across a sage brush covered field, which gives the best experience? If I had […]
I'm one of the fortunate few who has been able to ride all around this country. West Coast to East and much in between.
As promised, I got to hit some newish trails. I've been to Tosahatchee in the past, but it's been several years. I'm scoping this out as I am hosting a ride there in December, so wanted to re-fresh my memory on the trails.
Water. It's something we take for granted. If you need to wash out the dog's water bowl, you dump what's in it, use fresh water to scrub it, dump it out and refill, right? Same with the horses? How about a sweaty horse after a ride? Lead them to wash rack or hose and spray them down.
Thanks to the help of my husband and brother, we almost always get to ride on Wednesday evenings at the ranch. It’s amazing to me to look back on the pictures and see how far we have come in a year. In just a few short weeks our new home will be finished and we can live here. […]
You know how the horse world is a small world? It so is. Like when I moved, with my Apps, from Cali to Florida and boarded at a small boarding barn and 2 months later a gal moved from Cali to Florida with her App and boarded at same barn and we knew of so many things […]
Bikini What??? That's what I said when my girlfriend asked if I was interested in competing in Bikini Polo. I'd never heard of such a thing. As an event promoter, she was always looking for something new and fun to keep the audience entertained. I thought about it, decided it sounded like fun, but knew there was no possible way I was going to be in a bikini on a horse in front of a crowd.
You may have noticed in my last blog entry there was a not so flattering picture of myself on my horse. My clothes were rumpled, my hair a mess, my horse was only wearing a halter and lead rope with her saddle. I'm going to come clean here … the only reason she had a saddle on was because I'm just not as agile as I was even 4 years ago and my foot is cut off in the shot because … I'm in flip flops.
