Ebony Shines Makes NRHA History

Since its inception in 1966, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) has seen thirty-eight stallions cross the coveted NRHA Million Dollar Sire mark. After the completion of several NRHA events this weekend, however, history was made when the offspring of 2016 NRHA Hall of Fame inductee Ebony Shines earned her enough to unofficially become the first NRHA Million Dollar Dam.

NRHA Announces Hall of Fame Inductees

Following the presentation of the Hall of Fame Committee’s recommended nominees, the National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Board of Directors and past Hall of Fame inductees voted to approve Dun It For Chex and Bill Bradley for induction into the NRHA Hall of Fame. The NRHA Hall of Fame is a project of the Reining Horse Foundation (RHF).

Topsail Whiz Makes the Record Books Once Again

Before the commencement of the 2018 National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) Derby, NRHA all-time leading sire Topsail Whiz was sitting only $11,000 shy of hitting the historic 12 million dollar mark, and with only a few offspring competing in the open and non pro Derbies, it was unclear whether the legendary stallion would cross the threshold during the summer’s premier reining event.

NRCHA Derby Horse Show Champions Crowned

The first day of the National Reined Cow Horse Association Jack and Phoebe Cooke Memorial Derby is complete, as we crowned spectacular and horse show class champions at the Paso Robles Event Center in Paso Robles, California. Today, many of our horses and riders marked big scores throughout the cow horse triathlon of herd work, rein work and cow work.
