I have been riding since I was small. I don't know the first time I rode, but there are pictures of me on a pony as a toddler. My parents weren't competitive or professional riders in any sense of the word, but they kept a horse or two for pleasure riding.
Do you recall when you were a kid and you did things just because you wanted to? It didn’t matter if it was horse related or not, there just wasn’t any real thought to the reason behind doing something.
Thanks to the holidays, in this case Thanksgiving, I’ve actually had the opportunity to ride frequently. My husband took off the whole week of Thanksgiving and was willing to help with the kids so I could ride the fantastic Ruby!

Horse people tend to fall into 2 categories. Gelding people and mare people. I’ve never really understood it, as I don’t see what’s wrong with mares. I hear about attitudes and moods, but don’t geldings have those too? I suppose that I must fall into the mare category if I have to choose.
