NRCHA Welcomes One Time Pepto as a New Million Dollar Sire

One Time Pepto, a 2001 stallion sired by Peptoboonsmal and out of the Smart Little Lena daughter One Time Soon, has joined the elite group of National Reined Cow Horse Association Million Dollar Sires. One Time Pepto offspring have earned a total of $1,004,906 in NRCHA competition.

One Time Pepto set the bar high from the time he was a yearling, when owner Jeffrey Matthews, of Matthews Cutting Horses, purchased him for a record $380,000 at the 2002 National Cutting Horse Association Futurity Select Yearling Sale. As a performer, One Time Pepto earned $331,097 in the NCHA arena with Matt Gaines in the saddle. His list of accolades includes the 2005 NCHA Super Stakes Open Championship; the 2006 Abilene Open Classic Championship; and the Augusta Open Classic Championship.
The roan stallion's first foals arrived in 2007, and when they came of futurity show age in 2010, they made a huge impression.  One Time Rey Jay (One Time Pepto x Hickorys Red Rey x Doc's Hickory), shown by Jake Telford for then-owner Aspen Meadows Ranch, was the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity Open Reserve Champion. The mare is now owned by Holy Cow Performance Horses. Another 2007 foal, One Time Royalty (One Time Pepto x Royal Serena Bell x Shorty Lena) won the NCHA Futurity Championship with Lloyd Cox aboard. As of February 2014, One Time Pepto foals have earned $5,888,580 in all disciplines.
Sixty-one One Time Pepto foals have earned money in the NRCHA arena. The top five on the list:
1. One Time Rey Jay – $111,627
2. Time For The Diamond – $107,478
3. Moonstruck Pepto – $89,817
