They’ve been a magical combination from the beginning – and at the National Reined Cow Horse Association Stakes show in Scottsdale, Dema Paul and Primos Bob Acre were once again ahead of the pack.

Paul rode the gelding by Teninas First out of Bob Acre Angelina to win both the Open and Non Pro divisions of the Hackamore Stakes, for a total take-home of $7388 (Open $4800, Non Pro $2588).

The Open Reserve Championship went to another Non Pro – Bubba Petty on Shiners Buenonic (Shining Spark X Bueno Q Nic). Petty won $3840 for that finish, and another $2156 for Non Pro Reserve and was also the Intermediate Open Champion, good for another $1500. He also won the $50K competition and earned another $1600 for a total take-home of $9096.

The Intermediate Reserve Championship went to Tracer Gilson on Nita Gulbas’ Nic Tuck Ana Freckle, with a composite of 645.5. That score also earned $900 and the Limited Open Championship, good for a $1300 payout. Reserve Limited Open Champion was Chris Littlefield on Seven S Belle Starr, owned by Terry Forst, earning $975.

On Friday morning the action continued and with the completion of the preliminary round of Snaffle Bit Stakes competition, the Amateur Champions were named. Kristi Locatelli won the Amateur 4-year-old event on Stylish Play Time (Docs Stylish Oak X Playin Cube) with a total composite of 635 (213,210,212). She earned $2430. Pollly Bremel rode into the Reserve Amateur Championship on Uno Smart Starlight (Smart Little Pepinic X Shotgun Lizzy). Bremel earned $1944 for her composite of 632 (217.5,204,210.5).

Action continues today with the conclusion of the $10,000 Added Open and Non Pro Bridle Spectacular. The show begins on Saturday at 8 am with the finals of the Snaffle Bit Stakes Open and Non Pro.
