I have loved horses my whole life. I was introduced to my passion for horses the tender age of three by my biological grandfather. The first horse I was mounted on was a Thoroughbred racehorse that belonged to my grandfathers’ friend. My grandfather felt I would be ok on my own because the horse was in a fenced area, but that didn’t stop me from having fun.

My family has told me that I encourage the racehorse to run and run he did. Somewhere along the way I fell off, being only three at the time I don’t remember. The one thing I remember to this day is my love for horses.

I recieved my first horse at age nine. Low Brow Joe, or Joe for short, became my best friend. Today he is still my best friend after nearly 12 years, even though he is 32 years old he still takes me every where I want to go.

I also own a Thoroughbred mare named Silent Christie who can be a problem horse but I wouldn’t trade her for the world. Someday I hope to have a place where children can ride forgetting problems in their home environment even if for just a few hours a day.

I feel it is important that children develop a bond with an animal and what better aninmal than a horse.
