It has been almost a month since I lost my first horse. I had Secret for allmost 11 years. She was my Christmas presant. Secret taught me a lot about love and trust. She was always there for me. No matter what. She went with me whenI went back to school in Colorado, then back to Idaho then to Califorina, and back again to Idaho. I stood by her when we had to do surgery on her hind legs. She had ruptured her tendons. Vets then told me it might be best if I went and put her down. I looked at my mare and asked her.

After the surgery I was told she may never run again or be rideable or be able to carry a foal to term. Secret was my lead mare, and yes we did go for rides. Maybe not long ones, but rides non the less. And along the way she gave five beautiful foals. I still own two. Mad Max and Stormy. And I also have three grandbabies of Secrets. Mad Max’s sons.

I was born loving horses and I will always love horses. No matter what heartache they give me. Secret taught me that, you must go on.

Secret was courage. All of her foals have a look about them that say, "Challenge me, for I have already been there."

Thank you
