How do you handle a horse that is afraid of needles?

We have a mare that is very afraid of needles. Needless to say, when it come time for shots, and coggins, it is a wreck! She rears and paws like a maniac. Yes, slowly start taking a syringe towards her and let her get use to it. You may consider hanging a few syringes in her stall (without the needles). You can do it it just takes time.
