Lone horse needs companion to cope with winter stress

He does not eat grass. I need somehting to make him be happy and eat, when I cannot ride him in the winter. Please help. I feel so bad for him. I need to know if he is depressed or just sad…

The best thing to do is to get him a companion, especially if he is a older horse. They seem to like companions usually of their same age or a little younger but not to much younger. A real young horse might agitate him too much.
