He has not been confined to a stall since I have had him or his previous owner of 10 years. Any ways we cut out windows for ventilation and he has scraped the fur off the area right behind his jaw on the right side of his neck area. I have used iodine and triple antibiotic ointment on that area, but he has a lump under the skin that concerns me. About the size of a large chicken egg. He was sensitive at first but the scrape its self has went away. What do you suggest I do …..

Shamby33,

I suggest you have a x-ray taken of the jaw as your horse might have a tooth root abscess.

Thanks,
Dr. Lowder
