Cowboys and cowgirls from across the world gathered at AT&T Stadium for their chance at the $2 million dollar payout. Underdogs, legends and world champions competed in seven events on Texas Independence Day. As promised by President and CEO Randy Bernard, $2 million, in total prize money was paid out. Each RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN event champion received a $100,000 paycheck along with a prize package totaling more than $27,000 (a Polaris RANGER, a custom Cactus trophy saddle, a Bohlin Buckle and a Browning Gun.)
Three Team Roping World Champions Go Head-to-Head for a Chance to Compete in the World’s Richest One-Day Rodeo
Eight-time World Champion Speed Williams, Seven-time World Champion Jake Barnes and Seven-time World Champion Clay O’Brien Cooper have accepted a head-to-head team roping challenge. They will compete at the Semifinals at Mesquite Arena this weekend for an exemption spot at RFD-TV’s THE AMERICAN, presented by Polaris RANGER, on March 2, 2014 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
More than 1,300 talented roping teams descended on the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, Texas, November 15–17 for the inaugural Cowtown ShootOut. Produced by the United States Team Roping Championships and sponsored by APHA, the all-breed event featured an extra-special incentive for ropers with a little bit of chrome: two Paint Horse incentive bonuses totaling $8,000.

American Paint Horse Association and United States Team Roping Championships Announce New Joint Venture
The American Paint Horse Association (APHA) and United States Team Roping Championships (USTRC) announced today a new joint venture team roping event to be held this Fall in Fort Worth, Texas, in conjunction with APHA Open/Amateur World Show (Nov 6-17, 2013). The event, the Cowtown ShootOut presented by the APHA will take place November 15-17, 2013 at the renowned Will Rogers Coliseum and will be produced by the USTRC.
In April, a group of trainers set out to do something that had never been done before – train wild Mustangs for a team roping competition in just four short months.
