The Reining Horse Sports Foundation (RHSF) is excited to announce the recipients of more than $10,000 in academic and need-based scholarships for seven youth members: Jarid Walton, Alexis Daggett, Kaitlyn Schultz, Emma Holbrook, Wyatt Marshall, Jessie Parsons, and Joan Lehman.
NRHA is excited to announce that Walla Walla Whiz (2003 stallion), owned by Arcese Quarter Horses USA and bred by Terry T. and Jo L. Wiens, is the newest stallion to join the Million Dollar Sire group! He skyrocketed past this milestone with help from his offspring to boast $1,008,228 in official NRHA earnings.
Closing the 2015 edition of the NRHA European Affiliate Championship held at the Petit Far West in Le Pin, France, was the $5,000-added EA Open sponsored by Cowboy’s Magazine. Writing yet another piece of history was NRHA Million Dollar Rider, Bernard Fonck of Belgium, riding Sail On Top Whizard (Whizard Jac x Miss N Sis x Miss N Cash), owned by Danny and Mireille Cerato.

National Reining Horse Association Derby Includes Head-To-Head Competition Between Top IHSA, NCEA and NRHA Members
Competition kicked off with an exciting start of the last day of the NRHA Derby with the NRHA Collegiate Championship Class. Held every year at the NRHA Derby, the top four individuals from the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA), National Collegiate Equestrian Associations (NCEA), and NRHA compete head-to-head.
Youth participation continues to be strong throughout the week at the NRHA Derby. On Tuesday youth officers, delegates, and members went to the Oklahoma City Boathouse to participate in team building activities to further strengthen their leadership skills. They also took a tour of the Olympic training facility.

The 5th annual Kentucky Reining Cup held in conjunction with the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event was one for the record books. Attendance at the event increased by a whopping 50% over the previous (a World Equestrian Games qualifying year), while the online broadcasts via USEFNetwork.com and iEquine.com were seen by over 50,000 viewers from all 50 states and 39 countries around the world.
Draw eight in the second section of the 2015 NRHA European Futurity Open finals on Saturday night in Kreuth were the go-round Level 4 Open winners: Cody Sapergia and Made In Walla, a gelding by Walla Walla Whiz and out of Miss Chilly Chex owned by Sabine Lisec and Chuck Klipfel, European nominated by Ambrosini Quarter Horses.

Kreuth, April 25, 2015, Provided by Simona Diale – Winning the NRHA Youth 13 & Under with a score 212 was Matteo Capello riding RS Knockout Olena (Spat Olena x Boggie Bar Linda), a 5-year-old gelding. “Our goal here in Kreuth is to earn points to qualify for the NRHA European Affiliate Championship,” said the young rider from Italy.
