As he jumped from no. 7 to no. 3 on the top halter sires list, his name also appears in the pedigree of four of the 15 elite. In fact, the no. 1 ranked horse, Touchdown Kid, calls him dad.

Owned by Don Falcon, Columbia Falls, Mont., and Chip Knost, Aubrey, Texas, the 2000 breeding season was only Touchdown Kid's second crop, one that earned $40,091, consisting of 21 offspring. His top money earner was Dont Touch Me Mr, a weanling mare owned by Jess and Donna Davis, Silver Hill, Ala., that earned $5,758.

The 2000 ranking is a step up from his debut appearance on the top 15 list of 1999, where he came in second to Ima Cool Skip with 15 offspring earning $44,241.

Spending just a few years in the show pen, the 1995 sorrel stallion made his mark as a performer, as well as a sire. In 1995, he finished fourth in the Open Weanling Stallions and was third in the Amateur at the AQHA World Show. In the same year, he won the Iowa Futurity and the International Halter Pleasure Quarter Horse Futurity and was third at the Solid Gold Futurity.

The beautiful sorrel now leaves the show pen spotlight to his offspring. He stands at Chip Knost Quarter Horses, Inc. in Aubrey, Texas.

Another 6-year-old stallion made his debut on to the leading sires list, coming in just shy of first place, with 11 offspring earning $35,821. Clu Heir, who shares Kid Clu's sire, 13th ranked Obvious Conclusion, sired Heirs Your Clu, which earned $12,699 in 2000.
