The Louisiana Quarter Horse Association Futurity shelled out big money to a record number 131 entries, Dec. 1, 2001, in Baton Rouge, La. at the John M. The Louisiana Quarter Horse Association Futurity shelled out big money to a record number 131 entries, Dec. 1, 2001, in Baton Rouge, La. at the John M. Parker Agricultural Coliseum on the Louisiana State University campus.

Attracting the most entries was the Non-Pro Weanling Fillies, with a class of 24 for a purse of $3,750. The 2001 chestnut mare, JMK Forget It Fellas, by Mr Yella Fella out of Clues Forget Me Not by Obvious Conclusion, topped the field. James Melvin Kifer, Hartselle, Ala. earned $1,125 for the win. Sixteen contestants paid up to compete for $3,050 in the Senior Weanling Fillies. Kifer and JMK Forget It Fellas took home another blue ribbon for the win, along with a check for $915.





Makin A Spectacle made owner Marion Brakefield, Talladega, Ala., a winner in the Non-Pro Weanling Stallions which had over 16 entries with a purse of $3,120. The stallion, also by Mr Yella Fella and out of Bold N Speckpacular by Bold Me Over, earned $936 for Brakefield. The pair was back in the Senior Weanling Stallions to top a class of 11 for $789. The class paid out $2,630.
Casino Anna, by Casino Cool out of Select Edition by Just Sonny, topped a field of 14 in the Junior Weanling Fillies with a total payout of $2,840. Monte Horn showed the filly for Troy and Joanna Stricklin, Yazoo City, Miss., to earn $852.

Nine contestants entered their stallions in the Junior Weanling Stallions for a purse worth $2,560. James Kifer padded his pocketbook once again, with his stallion JMK Upper Management earning $768 for the win with Jerri Harmon. The stallion is by Mr Yella Fella out of Miss Office Queen by Obvious Conclusion.

The Yearling Stallion class drew seven entries for a purse of $1,420. Coolest Go Lucky, owned by the Reata Ranch, Pilot Point, Texas, and shown by John Vansickle earned $426 for the win. The stallion is by Coolest out of Prestigious Maiden by Conclusive.

A Dominating Ms topped the Yearling Fillies class over seven entries with a purse of $1,490. Exhibited by Willis May and owned by Johnny Rusich, Metairie, La., the horse is by Dominate Clu out of Miss Custom Maid by Mister Impressive. May picked up $447 for the win.

The Yearling Geldings win went to Forsure To Dominate and owner L.G. Heier. The class had over four entries with a $1,280 purse. Heier, Arabi, La., pocketed $512 for the win. The gray gelding is by Dominate Clu out of Mr Impressives Janie by Mr Impressive.

The 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure attracted 10 entries for a purse of $3,445. Angie Rigdon rode Ima Polite Fantasy to earn $1,033.50 for owners Don and Ruby Rigdon, Brinkley, Ark. The winning mare is by A Chocolate Fantasy out of Miss Jody Polite by Charlie Polite. The 2-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure consisted of a $2,630 purse with six entries. Angie and Ima Polite Fantasy loped away with the win once again, this time for $1,052.

Angie was back in the winner's circle in the 3 and 4-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure, this time aboard her horse, Ima Polite Fantasy. The winning mount is by A Chocolate Fantasy out of Miss Jody Polite by Charlie Polite.

A Chocolate Odyssey and owner Amy Boutwell, Lumberton, Miss., topped two entries in the Non-Pro Yearling Longe Line with a $1,140 purse. The black stallion, by A Chocolate Fantasy out of Coosanita by Coosa Lad, earned $684 for the win.
