New England Dressage Association Kicks Off Northeast Volunteer Workshop Series

Rehoboth, MA – The New England Dressage Association (NEDA) is kicking off their Volunteer Workshop series in March, giving volunteers the chance to learn about basic equestrian organizations and membership requirements, the OPL entry form, stewarding, scribing, scoring and fence judging. Seven different free workshops are scheduled, developed by NEDA in conjunction with GMOs and equestrian organizations from Region 8.

“During March and April we will have seven different workshops that will provide volunteers a fun experience combined with a fantastic educational opportunity,” said Debbie Carr-Kirk, of NEDA. “The workshops will strengthen the volunteer work force, which will definitely produce better competitions. Fence Judging will be covered at ENYDCTA, GMHA and UNH.”

The workshops will be held at Johnson & Wales University Equestrian Center, University of New Hampshire Equestrian Center, Far Meadow Farm, Pineland Farms, Green Mountain Horse Association, Cornell Cooperative Extension Building and UMASS Hadley Farm. “I want to thank all the host facilities for their generosity in offering space for the workshops, free of charge,” Carr-Kirk said.

Carr-Kirk added that the GMOs involved in bringing the Volunteer Workshop series to the region include the Eastern New York Dressage and Combined Training Association, Central Vermont Dressage Association, Connecticut Dressage Association, Southern New Hampshire Dressage and Combined Training Association and Maine Dressage Society.
