Martinotti & Rambo Bo Sun Top the KL Performance Level 4 NRHA European Open Derby

The qualifying go-round of the Euro74,500-added KL Performance Horses Open Derby opened the NRHA European Derby in Manerbio, Italy today.  Ninety-three horse-rider combinations in the four levels rode for a spot in the finals in the Palasturla arena.

Topping the Level (L) 4 Open was Francesco Martinotti riding Giulia Degiovanni’s Rambo Bo Sun (Bars Jackson Bo x Be Aech Sabra x Be Aech Enterprise). With the 7-year-old stallion between the reins, Martinotti posted a 221.5. 
 
“I guess the European Derby is our show and once again my horse was great here!” said Francesco about his mount who boasts $28,980 NRHA LTE and with whom he won the 2012 NRHA European Derby L2 Open and L1 Open championships, and the 2013 NRHA European Derby L3 Open championship.
 
After delivering two baby boys in the past two years, Kelly Zweifel let everybody know she was back in business by scoring a 219.5 to lead the L3 open division riding Dunnit Like A Master (Master Snapper x Justanother Dun It x Hollywood Dun It).
 
The 5-year-old stallion, owned by Impresa Agicola Cuoghi and bred by Lewisville Development, LP, has $20,670 NRHA LTE. In 2012, he was 4th in the L1 open and 6th in the L2 open at the NRHA Futurity with Bobby Barko. In 2014, he was 3rd in the L3 open division at the 2014 Italian Reining Horse Association (IRHA) Derby with Pietro Artinghelli

 
Young Steve Ouellet of Italy earned the top score (215.5) in both the L2 open and L1 open divisions riding Little War Olena (Spat Olena x Saddle Shoes x Mr War Glo), owned by Alessandra Brigando.
 
Tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CET, the go-round of the Cardinal Reining Horses Non Pro Derby will take place.
