The Alltech FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2014 in Normandy

With 278 days until the event, Alltech FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2014 in Normandy could be moving forward at a trot. Instead they’ve opted for a gallop. With less than a year to go, November is marked by a 3-stage preparation that is being kept on a tight rein.

•    Ticket sales for the general public open on 18 November: 15,000 passes to be snapped up!

Following on from the equestrian family, the ticket office is now open to all, from a French and overseas public, to individuals and businesses. This phase relates exclusively to the sale of tickets grouped into a Pass format. In total, this second stage of the launch will offer up to 15,000 passes through until 3 March 2014.

This latest offer is set to be both comprehensive and complete. It offers the public the chance to enjoy a whole day (or 2) at the Games. It is characterised by its diversity: all the different disciplines are open to you thanks to a choice of 25 passes (18 Discovery Passes and 7 Sensation Passes. The Discovery Pass, which is very appealing for non-specialists in particular, groups together 1 to 3 disciplines. The Sensation Pass, most sought after by connoisseurs, offers the best of one or several disciplines, with the added guarantee of a place at a final. Whatever the case, the Pass ensures access to the Games Village on days when it is valid.

This second phase of the ticket sale launch is offering some attractive rates, with a 20% reduction on the unit price of the ticket. The passes cost upwards of €16.00. A 50% reduction is offered to children of 12 and under so the whole family can benefit.

It’s worth pointing out that the first phase of the ticket sale launch proved to be a tremendous success with over 33,500 passes already reserved, in France and the rest of the world, by the equestrian family (which equates to over 130,000 places): 50% of the tickets have been sold to overseas members and federations, 40% to French clubs and members (22% of which are local, 22% from border regions and 20% from Ile de France), and finally 10% to partners. This result is higher than predicted, as these figures weren’t expected before the end of 2013.

The sale of places in France, thorughout the various phases of the process, will largely be made online, on the event website www.normandy2014.com, as well as via Facebook, on the event’s official page or, finally, via telephone by calling 0033 811 26 2014 (Price of a local call in France, though there may be additional costs according to your operator).

•   The Alltech FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2014 in Normandy, VIP guests at the Salon du Cheval (Horse Show).

The Salon du Cheval 2013, organised in Paris Nord Villepinte from 30 November to 8 December, will be strongly influenced by the Alltech FEI World Equestrian GamesTM 2014 in Normandy. Indeed the event will even be the VIP guest at the horse show.

On show on the stand for the Games (located at 5A H130), with a livery that reflects the event’s colours, will be their dedicated van that has criss-crossed the length and breadth of France this year. It will be possible to reserve tickets for the competition via a set of Internet terminals installed on the stand. Each visitor will be able to immerse themselves in the competition’s various sporting disciplines thanks to the ‘1 day/1 discipline’ operation. Demonstrations will be proposed everyday in the presence of champions or specialists in different disciplines: jumping, eventing, dressage, driving, vaulting, horseball, polo, para-dressage and reining.

In the entertainment department, there are a number of surprises in store with the presence of the two official mascots, Norman and Pom’Pommette, who will be out to meet the public all around the Show. Scratchcards will also be distributed amongst the public for no extra charge and the Numéro Gagnant (Winning Number) game will give visitors the chance to win goodies, with JEM gift boxes, an Integral Pass and numerous gifts from the Games’ partners also up for grabs…

Normandy has the place of honour in the Paris procession on 24 November
