It was a beautiful day at Meadowhill, Saturday September 25th for the 12th Annual Aiken Ladies Invitational presented by Mercedes Benz of Augusta and hosted by 302 Polo Club. Benefitting the National Breast Cancer Foundation and a program that was founded and continues to be funded at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia to provide free mammograms and other breast cancer diagnostics to women (and men) with no or insufficient health Insurance. In the two and a half years that this program has been in operation, more than 40 women have received over 1200 mammograms and more than 40 women have received further diagnostics.

The day started with the finals of the Campbell Cup 0-2 goal flight between High Cotton and Environmental works. Two great teams comprised of some great International and American players. It was High Cotton all the way however, after scoring the first 3 goals of the match, they continued to dominate throughout the game despite a valiant effort by Environmental Works to stay in the game. The final score was 7-3 to High Cotton. Injured Robin Melton was substituted by Maria Fenoglio.

Following this match was the Finals of the 3-5 goal Aiken Ladies Invitational flight between Taylor BMW and The Aiken Horse. It was Taylor BMW all the way during this game. The indominitable force of Taylor BMW was too much for The Aiken Horse who kept up a strong defense and offense throughout the game, but just couldn’t get past their opponents to put the goals in. The final score was 10-1 to Taylor BMW.
