The American Endurance Ride Conference, the national governing body for endurance riding in the U.S.A., will hold its annual convention in Chattanooga, Tennessee on March 14-15, 2003.

Leading experts in equine health care and endurance-related fields will be featured at several seminar sessions. Other highlights of AERC’s convention will include a trade show featuring vendors from across the country. Regional awards will be presented at a reception on March 14, and the convention will culminate with AERC’s national awards the evening of March 15.

"We invite anyone interested in learning more about endurance riding to come check out the convention," says AERC Executive Director Kathleen Henkel. "Endurance is one of the fastest-growing equine sports and we’re hoping some prospective members come out to Chattanooga to see what endurance is all about."

Seminar speakers include equine nutritionist Susan Garlinghouse, Centered Riding proponent Becky Hart, equine sports medicine specialist Nancy Loving, DVM, humorist Angie McGhee, and bit designer Dale Myler.

The convention location is the Chattanooga Convention Center, adjacent to the Marriott Hotel in downtown Chattanooga. Hotel reservations may be made at 800-841-1674.

Based in Auburn, California, AERC is beginning its thirty-first ride season. Last year, 375 sanctioned rides were held in distances from 50-100 miles, with many multi-day rides, in the conference’s eight regions. Limited distance rides of 25-35 miles are designed for new riders and those who prefer riding the shorter distances.
