National Reining Horse Association numbers continue to grow and the association reports that the membership total has soared past the 11,500 mark for the first time in history!

According to Susie Trimmer, NRHA Manager of Membership Services, the growth is not isolated, and membership increases are reported from all geographic regions of the United States, as well as foreign countries. There has been a trend, though, of worldwide involvement, likely because of the emergence of reining on the international horse scene – and high visibility for reining at the World Equestrian Games.

"In recent months, we have seen a good amount of international growth," she commented, and added, "Twenty five percent of the new memberships received in the last two months have been from outside the United States."

Trimmer outlined the National Reining Horse Association’s membership benefits. "For a $40 annual fee, our members are eligible to receive the NRHA official monthly publication, the NRHA Reiner. They also become eligible to participate in our approved events."

In recent years, the NRHA has expanded its competition opportunities for every competitive skill level from Rookie to Professional and members can earn both local affiliate year-end awards and NRHA World titles. "There’s a place for everyone and the different divisions really level the playing field."

Also new for NRHA members will be the NRHA Convention, slated for February 12-14, 2003 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Another benefit of NRHA membership is access to the "Members Only" area of the National Reining Horse Association web site, www.nrha.com where members get $10 worth of earnings and records research per month.

The National Reining Horse Association is the worldwide governing body of reining, responsible for promoting the sport, working to insure the highest standards of competition. With corporate support from Cinch, Sundowner Trailers, Saddlesmith, Profile Nutrition, Horse & Rider magazine, Markel Insurance, Pfizer Animal Health, Quarter Horse News, Kiser Arena Specialists, State Line Tack, nrha.reiningnet.com and Classic Equine the NRHA continues to educate its members and the public about reining.
